Reports and Updates

February Vestry Highlights

Returning from a productive and focused retreat, your vestry was motivated to gather again in February to address important aspects of our parish life together. We spent time together reviewing our annual Parochial report which will be submitted to our diocese. According to, the Parochial report is “established by our Constitution and Canons as a tool for the collection of data that is intended to assist the Church in planning for mission.”  The report reflects changes in membership, services held in the past year (celebrations of marriage, life, baptism), stewardship information, and financial information.  Its review confirmed that abundant life and community are enduring and growing at Holy Trinity.

Speaking of mission, your vestry has agreed to prioritize long-term, strategic planning at each vestry meeting. In other words, we are serious about looking ahead and assuring that our ministries, decisions, and resources are growing us in the direction of our mission and goals.  Strategic planning is at the top of our vestry agenda each month to assure we are growing intentionally.

Other matters considered by vestry included the great work of the parish life committee in planning our Lenten simple soup suppers, outreach efforts already underway including Mayfair planning, review of building use policies, security planning, our expanding group of committed youth leaders, review of financials, status of stewardship efforts, and the remarkable spiritual formation opportunities offered during Lent.

We look forward to offering these vestry highlights throughout 2018. We, your vestry, feel fortunate to be among the disciples and servants at Holy Trinity. Julie Lee-Jacobs

Chocolate Pie Report:  We did it!  The generosity of Holy Trinity parishioners will make it possible for 5 youth and 2 adults to travel to central Appalachia for a week in June.  While there, they will help make homes warmer, safer and drier.  On February 4, the ASP team baked 90 chocolate chess pies and sold every single one of them, raising a total of $1,140.00.  Thank you.

The youth making Chocolate Chess Pies – February 2018
