Three Important (and unrelated) Announcements from the Rector

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I write to you this day with three important, exciting and unrelated announcements.

Firstly, on Thursday, July 4th Holy Trinity will host a worship service at 3:30pm. The service will be adapted from the BCP’s Evening Prayer and include music from guitars and banjo. It will last about 30 mins. Following the service, we will have a cook out on the meadow. ALL are welcome to both the service and the cook out (whether or not you are members of HT). If you attend the cook out we ask that you bring a dish to share and RSVP to John Kells (jlkells1@gmail.com).

Secondly, on Sunday, July 21st at 3pm Holy Trinity will host a tea and book signing in honor of June Lancaster, who has written a book about Holy Trinity. Copies of the book will be on sale at that tea for $20. Please spread the word! ALL are welcome to this tea, whether or not you are members of HT.

Lastly, I am very excited to announce that Aleasa Watson (pictured with husband John and daughter Lillie) will join our staff as Interim Preschool Director. She will be with us on beginning July 15th through the 2019/2020 school year.

Aleasa is originally from California and spent over a decade in Arkansas, though the military has allowed her family to call many places home. She comes from a diverse Christian background: she was born into a pastor’s family, attended both Episcopal and public schools, and graduated from a Baptist university. She is passionate about theology, administration, her family, and cooking. Aleasa has a BA in Christian Studies from Ouachita Baptist University and is working toward a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Gateway Seminary.

As Aleasa states, “I’m thrilled to be joining the community at Holy Trinity! We are a military family, but originally I’m from California. My husband John is from Arkansas, where we met in college. Our daughter Lillie began attending the preschool last year and I was so glad to have her in an Episcopal school, just like I attended when I was younger. When I heard that the position of interim Preschool Director was available, I knew God was nudging me to submit my resume. I love theology, cooking, and video games. I am passionate about religious education and I love the vision that Pastor Jeff and the board have for the school. I look forward to meeting more of the congregation as I work alongside the staff to continue to cultivate a thriving school and ministry. I came to worship — now it’s time to serve!”

These are all great things! As always, if you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Faithfully,

Jeff+
