Assisting Priest for Children’s Education

Anne Thornberg-1Annie grew up in New Bern, North Carolina and was sponsored for ordination by the Diocese of East Carolina.  In 2004, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  In 2010, she received her Masters of Divinity from The General Theological Seminary in New York City and was ordained to the priesthood.  She served as the Associate Rector of Christ Church in Exeter, New Hampshire from 2010 to 2012 and as a School Chaplain at St. Richard’s Episcopal School in Indianapolis, Indiana from 2013 to 2015.

As the Assisting Priest for Children’s Education, Annie’s primary duties are to create space for the children of Holy Trinity to be with one another and with God and to support the incredible volunteers who make this possible.  She will also be conducting baptismal classes to prepare and educate baptismal candidates and their parents and sponsors to receive the sacrament of Baptism.

Annie is married to The Rev. Jeffrey D. S. Thornberg (also an Episcopal priest) and they have two young daughters, Eleanor and Harriet.
